When I was 19, a friend I have known since middle school asked if I wanted to take an astrology class in her living room.

As a young Aries, I wanted anyone anywhere to tell me about myself, so I went - expecting it be something I went to weekly for only a month or so. We met for a couple years, in a tiny group of 3. We talked about our lives, our fears, and our frustrations. In these meetings, I understood the secrets and vulnerabilities that are dug up when you talk to people about their most personal experiences and traits. We were taught about the individuality of the personal astrological chart, and how sacred it is to treat people with integrity and complexity when interpreting their unique planetary alignments.

I have done readings in tiny studio apartments sitting on a pile of someone’s clothes as a chair. I have done readings over the phone while I ride in a car going a million miles an hour on a cross country trip. I have done readings in an ice house, an airplane, a boat, until four in the morning at a bachelorette party, in yards and offices and swamps.
I have heard it all, and I have laughed and cried about it all, along with you.
